The Conservative Party's new slogan "We can't go on like this", brings forward the very grave question of British health care.
With talk of a spending 'black hole' in the NHS, and a government, of whichever persuasion facing among the deepest cuts in public spending in decades, the has come for a national debate about how we face the future as a country when it comes to this delicate issue.
It is not as simple as to come down on one side or the other. Many countries have many different systems with work to a greater or lesser degree for their citizens.
In the US, their going through a painful process of trying to reform their system. And it could be argued that this transitional time would be perfect for Britain to think about doing likewise.
For some, a completely public funded, is the only possible option, they will not even countenance any form of private medical cover.
This might have been sustainable in times of full employment, and with an ageing population to sustain it is harder and harder to make the maths work.
Many businesses already offer extensive policies for their employees, which might help to allieviate the creaking NHS, but in these times of multi-national commerce, it is hard to find the perfect plan for such a varied workforce.
All that is certain is that there is almost certain to be change.
